Our New Rayner Center Director
It gives us great pleasure to announce that our acting director, Latonia Douglas, has accepted our offer to become the Director of the Alfred G. Rayner Early Learning Center.
Latonia is a long-time, trusted member of the Rayner Center staff. She has been at Rayner for almost 15 years, beginning as a teacher, then transitioning to supervisor, and most recently serving as assistant director. In her new position, she will be responsible for overall operations of the Rayner Center.
Latonia has two business degrees and holds the National Administrator Credential for Early Childhood. She is the mother of two children and brings years of parenting, teaching, supervising, and administrative experience to her new position.
She has exciting plans for the RLC, including implementing our new Frog Street curriculum throughout the center, and working closely with Rabbi Teri on our Judaic curriculum. She will be closely collaborating with our teachers to improve communication with parents and families, and she will work to provide more staff development opportunities for teachers and staff. Latonia will also be working together with synagogue staff and volunteers in order to facilitate maintenance of our building and management of RLC finances, as well as to ensure that Rayner policies align with synagogue policies.
When you see her, please let Latonia know how much we appreciate her taking on this important position with our full support. We are thrilled to know that Rayner is in such excellent hands.
